Maintenance Yard and Shop

Going to the The Shop

Shakti keeps a maintenance yard and shop facility located in Whitecourt Alberta. This facility is used to store equipment in a secured yard including field staff's personal vehicles.

The facility also comes with a heated secured shop intended for the equipment team to perform minor repairs and adjustments to equiment. The Shop is stocked with various tools and safety equipment is also stored there.

The Housekeeping Policy applies to all team members who use the Shakti Shop. Primarily this will be the Maintenance Equipment Team, when a non maintenance team member wants to use The Shop they must be oriented by an Equipment Team Member.

The Hand and Power Tool Use Policy applies to all team members who operate company tools or tools on behalf of the company. Employees are responsible for conducting task-specific risk assessments, following control measures (e.g., tethered tools, protective gear), and completing both formal and informal equipment inspections. 

Operators must report issues immediately, perform maintenance when needed, and comply with Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures to prevent accidental tool activation. The Equipment Leads and Equipment Maintenance Team oversee inspection schedules, review maintenance records, and follow up on issue reports. 

All operators must be trained and certified, with specialized requirements for chainsaw and brush saw use.
